Department of BiochemistryMODE OF ENTRY AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS a. JAMB University Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME)Candidates wishing to read B.Sc. Biochemistry must have gained a minimum UTME score as approved by the University in Biology, Chemistry, English Language and Physics together with at least five (5) O’ level credits at not more than two (2) sittings in WAEC,SSCE,GCE,NECO or its equivalents. The credits must be in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics. b. Pre Degree Programme A grade point score as approved by the University in Pre DegreeProgramme of the Yobe State University with a minimum combined UTME score as approved by the University in Biology, Chemistry, English Language and Physics together with at least five (5) O’ level credits at not more than two (2) sittings in WAEC,SSCE,GCE,NECO or its equivalents. The credits must be in 6 the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics c. JAMB Direct Entry (DE) Candidates with an average of pointsas approved by the Universityat A/ level with at least five (5) O’ level credits at not more than two (2) sittings in WAEC,SSCE,GCE,NECO or its equivalents. The credits must be in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics. d. Inter University Transfer Candidates with a good CGPA from recognized universities and degree awarding institutions with a minimum combined UTME score as approved by the University in Biology, Chemistry, English Language and Physics together with at least five (5) O’ level credits at not more than two (2) sittings in WAEC,SSCE,GCE,NECO or its equivalents. The credits must be in the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, and Physics may be considered. e. Intra University Transfer Candidates with a good CGPA from related disciplines of the Yobe State University with a minimum combined UTME score as approved by the University in Biology, Chemistry, English Language and Physics together with at least five (5) O’ level credits at not more than two (2) sittings in WAEC,SSCE,GCE,NECO or its equivalents.
